![]() Sometimes I will walk away from my Mac with that store tab still on the screen, only to come back and see my Mac has been cooking away so hot ever since I left. ![]() I'm using the current Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1 on a 2018 Mac mini i3 with 32GB or RAM. I will quit the app but it will continue, I will even force quit the process but it comes right back still at 170% or higher. Then coreaudiod process will spike the CPU at 200% or more and cause the temp to rise so high. This seems to start when I am using the tv app on macOS and then go to the store tab and click on a film there to purchase and it will be playing a movie preview in the window. I can't remember if it was going on with the previous OS. I do not have any other demanding applications open at any time, at most Safari with a few tabs and Word/Excel/PowerPoint.Īny help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.Ĭoreaudiod Process Problem This has been going on at least as long as I've been using macOS Monterey. Processor: 1.2Ghz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 This is a bit disappointing as I purchased this new laptop hoping for better performance, not worse.Īll software is up-to-date and my system specifications are as follows: I have never experienced this problem with my old MacBook Air from 2013. When I switch off video the load quickly returns to normal. I experience this problem across different video calling software: Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom all see the CPU load go wild. When using the webcam for video calling the CPU load becomes extreme and the ventilator is working overtime. This week I took use of a new MacBook Air 2020. ![]() MacBook Air 2020 High CPU load when using video Hello everyone, ![]()
